On Monday, June 15, Haute and Freddy brought the circus to town with their Big Disgrace tour to the Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix, AZ. Walking into the venue, I immediately noticed people waiting both outside and inside wearing extravagant costumes that matched the theme of the show. It was awesome to see how much effort the fans put into their outfits. While talking to people before the show, I met a fan who had driven all the way from Mexico just to attend. That level of dedication really showed how much the duo means to their fans.
The set production was very detailed and helped bring Haute and Freddy’s world to life. I felt as if I was at a carnival waiting for a circus act to begin. There was an upright piano on the left side of the stage and a circus carriage in the back, where the performers would appear throughout the night, with “Haute and Freddy” written across the top. Circus props were spread around the stage, making the entire venue feel like a small traveling circus.
Haute appeared on stage in a theatrical outfit inspired by vintage circus aesthetics. Her look was anchored by a tall black cone hat decorated with three pom-poms, paired with a cream-colored corset bodice, a blue ruffled collar, and dark blue gloves. Meanwhile, Freddy wore a black long-sleeve shirt with a ruffled front, pearl necklaces, and loose cream-colored trousers that matched the duo’s circus-inspired style.
One of the evening’s most memorable moments came during “Scantily Clad,” when Haute and Freddy invited several fans onstage to participate in the performance. What made the moment special was how fully the fans embraced their roles. They stayed in character, acting, dancing, and performing alongside the duo. At times, it felt more like watching a theatrical production than a concert. It was heartfelt and fun to see the connection that Haute and Freddy created with their fans.
Overall, Haute and Freddy’s Big Disgrace tour delivered much more than a concert. The music and theater performance really created a whole show that has been different from other shows I’ve been to. By the end of the night, I felt completely drawn into the duo’s circus-inspired world, and after seeing them perform live, I officially became a fan of Haute and Freddy.
