Les Claypool, along with Sean Ono Lennon, performed sets with Colonel Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade and The Claypool Lennon Delirium to open the show.

The sets were broken up with a video homage to Claypool’s main focus over the years — Primus. The video gave a brief history of the band as told by Claypool, and included commentary from artists such as Rush, Fishbone, and Billy Strings.

The second set was followed by a brief intermission so fans could “take a leak or buy a t-shirt,” both recommendations from the band via the video screen. Fans obliged on both counts, with lines for the restroom that rivaled the lines at the merch booth.

Concertgoers returned to their seats, relieved and laden with frog bucket hats, posters, and t-shirts as the third set was about to begin.

Primus took the stage for the final set of the night as the crowd chanted “Primus Sucks!” Never ones to be predictable, the band opened up with “My Name is Mud” and “Jerry Was a Race Car Driver,” both of which had been used as closers for most of the tour.

The rest of the set spanned Primus’ extensive discography, including “Frizzle Fry,” “The Heckler,” and “Harold of the Rocks.”

Primus closed out the night with a two-song encore that included “Fisticuffs” and “Southbound Pachyderm,” the latter performed by all three bands.

The Claypool Gold tour finishes up in California this week, with shows in San Diego and Long Beach before wrapping in Napa on July 4th.

Claypool is set to tour the UK and Europe with Primus beginning July 31. Tickets can be purchased here.
