The Aces truly earned their gold star at the Walter Studios in Phoenix, AZ during their tour stop for their latest album, “Gold Star Baby” on Friday, December 5, 2025. As a longtime fan, I can confidently share that this was their best Phoenix performance thus far.
The show began with the lights dimming and the opening of Welcome to Gold Star Baby – an introductory interlude for their show, where a voice welcomed us while the stage lit up and the backdrop lit up with a gold star. The band launched into “Jealous”, immediately showcasing the strong chemistry between lead vocalist Cristal Ramirez, guitarist Katie Henderson, drummer Alisa Ramirez and bassist McKenna Petty. Their energy and bond were strong as they moved across the stage throughout the show, connecting with each other and the audience.
Midway through the set, after about nine songs, the band exited the stage while an interlude came on titled “The Girls.” A playful voiceover described the excitement of attending The Aces’ new tour, even if it meant running into an ex. The band quickly returned to the stage as they put on pink boas around their necks and with a bar cart. They engaged with the crowd by searching for the best dressed fan. After pointing out a few fans within the crowd and complimenting their outfits, the band turned around and huddled to select the winner – a fan dressed in cheetah print, mirroring McKenna’s cheetah print outfit. The winner joined the band on stage for a celebratory shot as the crowd roared.
As the concert neared its end, Katie mentioned their fan favorite podcast, “Aces Faces,” where they had a segment where the girls would spill their tea of the week. Katie invited fans to share their wildest tea. One fan revealed that they had just started a new chapter in their life with a woman for the first time after her recent separation from her husband. The venue immediately roared with cheering and screaming, including The Aces. The band wrapped up this segment by introducing their new song, “Square One” from their latest EP released last month.
The Aces performed around 22 songs, ending the night on a high note with fan favorites from previous albums, “Daydream” and “Stuck.” Their show was truly a gold star celebration of their latest groovy, disco pop album and their connection with their fans, making it memorable night for everyone in attendance.
