Silverstein Celeberates 25 Years of Noise in Tempe, AZ

Silverstein returns to Arizona to bring their “25 Years of Noise” tour along with friends on January 29, 2025 at The Marquee Theater in Tempe, Arizona.

Split Chain, hailing from Bristol, UK, made a remarkable impression as the opening act for Silverstein’s 25 Years of Noise Tour. Despite being relatively new to American audiences, they delivered a performance that was both energetic and memorable.

The band consist of Roberto Martinez-Cowles (Vocals), Oli Bowles (Guitar), Jake Reid (Guitar), Tom Davies (Bass) and Aaron Black (Drums). Split Chain’s set had a cool mix of nu-metal and grunge, making their sound feel both old-school and new at the same time. They sort of gave me a sense of the band Nirvana. Songs like “Future,” “Chalk,” and “Extract” really showed off their skills and got the crowd into it. The energy was insane—people were singing along, jumping around, and even starting mosh pits.

Since this was their first U.S. tour, they had a lot to prove, and they totally delivered. Even people who had never heard them before were into it, which says a lot about how good they are live. As the tour goes on, it’s clear that Split Chain is a band to keep an eye on—they brought so much energy and set the bar high for the rest of the night.

Up next was… Canadian band Arm’s Length delivered a compelling performance as the second opening act for Silverstein’s 25 Years of Noise Tour. The five-piece ensemble which includes; Allen Steinberg (Vocals / Guitar), Jeremy Whyte (Guitar), Marty Hacker-Mullen (Guitar) Benjamin Greenblatt (Bass), and Jeff Whyte (Drums)—captivated the audience with their energetic set.

Arm’s Length kicked things off with “In Loving Memory,” and right away, the crowd was into it, singing along to every word. Their setlist included songs from their 2022 debut album, Never Before Seen, Never Found Again, plus a new single, “Funny Face.” The band had great energy on stage, and the audience was all in.

Overall, Arm’s Length can definitely put on an awesome show and did a great job hyping up the crowd for the rest of the night.

Thursday, the renowned post-hardcore band from New Jersey, delivered a powerful performance as the main support for Silverstein’s 25 Years of Noise Tour. Their set was a masterclass in blending nostalgia with fresh energy, captivating both longtime fans and newcomers alike.
Opening with “The Other Side of the Crash/Over and Out,” Thursday immediately set an intense tone. Frontman Geoff Rickly’s dynamic stage presence and emotive vocals were highlights, especially during tracks like “Cross Out the Eyes” and “Understanding in a Car Crash.” The addition of Wade MacNeil from Alexisonfire on guitar joining them on tour added a unique layer to their sound, seamlessly integrating into the band’s chemistry.

The audience’s enthusiasm was palpable, with fans passionately singing along. Rickly’s heartfelt reflections on the band’s journey, including their return from hiatus and personal milestones, added depth to the performance. The setlist was a well-curated mix of fan favorites and newer material, showcasing the band’s evolution while honoring their roots.

Thursday wrapped up their set with the classic “War All the Time,” proving once again why they’re such a big deal in the post-hardcore scene. Their performance was a perfect mix of old and new, showing why fans still love them. They brought so much energy and emotion, making it the perfect lead-up to Silverstein’s set.

Silverstein’s 25 Years of Noise tour proves they’re still a huge part of the post-hardcore scene. Celebrating 25 years of music, the band put on a show that was both a trip down memory lane and a display of how much they’ve grown.

The night kicked off with a video montage looking back at Silverstein’s journey, setting an emotional vibe for the crowd. Then, they jumped right into their set, playing songs from every album. They started with tracks from their newest release, Antibloom, and worked their way backward through their old stuff. This cool setlist order let fans hear how their sound has changed over the years.

The setlist was a carefully curated mix of fan favorites and deep cuts, ensuring that both longtime followers and newer fans were engaged. Tracks like “Skin & Bones” and “Confession” from “Antibloom” showcased the band’s current sound, while classics such as an acoustic “My Heroine” and “Smashed Into Pieces” brought a wave of nostalgia, igniting fervent sing-alongs and energetic crowd participation.

Throughout the show, Silverstein really connected with the crowd. Vocalist, Shane Told talked to the audience between songs, and the fans were so hyped, it felt like everyone was vibing together. The energy was insane, with people crowd surfing and dancing all over the place, completely lost in the music.

In conclusion, Silverstein’s “25 Years of Noise” tour is more than a celebration of longevity; it’s a reaffirmation of their significant impact on the post-hardcore genre. Their ability to honor their roots while embracing growth ensures that their legacy will continue to resonate with fans old and new.
