Rising British duo Good Neighbours have announced the release of their long-awaited debut album, Blue Sky Mentality, arriving September 26 via Capitol/Polydor. The album is now available to pre-save or pre-order. Accompanying the news is the release of their vibrant new single, “Suburbs”, a nostalgic, emotionally charged anthem that looks back on youth and dreams beyond small-town limitations.
“‘Suburbs’ is a message back to our younger selves,” the band shares. “Coming from small towns outside of London, it was hard to dream big without getting shot down. This track is our anthem for breaking free from that mindset and chasing something bigger.”
A Platinum-Powered Breakout
The announcement of Blue Sky Mentality follows the phenomenal success of the duo’s debut single, “Home”, which made history as the first-ever platinum-certified debut by an alternative band. The track has since earned platinum status in the U.S. and Australia, gold in the UK and New Zealand, and amassed over 550 million streams globally. It also broke into the Top 10 at Alternative radio in the U.S. and hit the Top 5 at AAA radio, making it one of the biggest alternative debuts of the past year.
Since then, Good Neighbours have continued to build a global following organically, fueled by their heartfelt songwriting, nostalgic energy, and compelling live performances. Their music has been widely featured in television shows and commercials worldwide, further cementing their status as a band to watch.
Blue Sky Mentality: A Soundtrack for Light, Hope, and Connection
Blue Sky Mentality is more than an album title—it’s a philosophy the duo has embraced from the start. Written during a whirlwind year of touring, the album captures their ethos of finding moments of clarity, joy, and connection even in uncertain times.
“Blue sky mentality has been our motto since day one,” they explain. “Our band began as a kind of light relief—a creative outlet to break from jobs that we couldn’t stand and some tough personal times. Over the last year, we ran with that feeling, writing our debut album on the road—in the back of tour buses, hotel rooms, and scattered corners of the world.”
Packed with big choruses, warm production, and a sense of unshakable optimism, the album reflects the duo’s belief in music as a unifying force. Each track invites listeners into a shared space of hope, escapism, and joy.
