Militarie Gun Release New Album God Save The Gun and Announce The Bad Idea North American Tour

Los Angeles-based band Militarie Gun have released their highly anticipated new album God Save The Gun, available now via Loma Vista Recordings. The project arrives as one of the year’s most compelling rock releases, expanding the band’s sound while digging deep into themes of addiction, self-destruction, and resilience.

Earlier this week, the group dropped the blistering single “God Owes Me Money”, which premiered as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record in the World and was hailed by Rolling Stone as “tragically catchy.” The album also features previously released tracks “B A D I D E A” and “Throw Me Away”, both accompanied by visuals directed by frontman Ian Shelton.

Critics have already begun praising God Save The Gun. Rolling Stone notes the band has “stretched the concept of what hardcore can be, weaving in melody and riffy hooks more befitting stadium rock.” Highsnobiety called the album “far and away the group’s strongest to date,” while Stereogum declared it “one of the most thrilling rock albums of the year,” naming it their Album of the Week.

At its core, God Save The Gun is a brutally honest look at the duality of self-destruction and self-belief. “I’m well aware that being this vulnerable turns my personal trauma into a marketing hook for this album,” says Shelton. “But I’m fine with it, if not provoking it.” The record finds him confronting addiction not as an observer, but as a participant, reflecting on the absurdity of knowingly walking into personal chaos.

Following the success of their acclaimed 2023 debut Life Under The Gun, the new record sees Militarie Gun sharpen their sound with the help of long-time collaborators Phillip Odom, James Goodson of Dazy, and Nick Panella of MSPAINT. The album was co-produced by Riley MacIntyre (Adele, Arlo Parks, The Kills), who helped shape the raw emotion and sonic scale of the project.

To celebrate the release, Militarie Gun will hit the road for The Bad Idea North American Tour, kicking off October 25 in Palm Springs, California, with support from Liquid Mike and Public Opinion. The 21-date run will stop in cities including Louisville, Baltimore, New Orleans, and Houston before wrapping up November 22 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

In early 2026, the band will launch their European and UK headline tour with White Reaper and Spite House, followed by a spring North American tour alongside Joyce Manor.

God Save The Gun follows a prolific year for Militarie Gun, who recently released the Life Under The Sun EP featuring collaborations with Manchester Orchestra, Bully, and Mannequin Pussy, along with their appearance in the WWE 2K24 soundtrack curated by Post Malone.
