Sombr Announces Release of Debut Album And Tour

Global alt-pop sensation Sombr has officially announced the release of his long-awaited debut album, I Barely Know Her, arriving August 22.

Global alt-pop sensation Sombr has officially announced the release of his long-awaited debut album, I Barely Know Her, arriving August 22 via Warner Records. The announcement comes on the heels of an extraordinary breakout year that has seen the 20-year-old artist shatter records, sell out tours across multiple continents, and earn two nominations at the 2025 MTV VMAs for Best New Artist and Best Alternative.

The album written entirely by Sombr and co-produced with Grammy-winning producer Tony Berg (Phoebe Bridgers, boygenius, The Replacements) is available now to pre-order/add/save. It will include recent hits Back to Friends and Undressed, both of which continue to climb the Billboard Hot 100 and Top 40 Radio, alongside his latest single 12 to 12.

12 to 12, Sombr’s biggest single debut to date, is already making waves, landing in the Top 20 on the UK Official Singles Chart, earning a spot on both the U.S. and Global Spotify Top Charts, and racking up millions of streams within days of release. Its cinematic music video directed by Gus Black and starring Addison Rae is available to watch now.

Earlier this year, Sombr made history by reaching #1 at Alternative Radio faster than any debut artist in the last decade. His global streaming numbers have now surpassed 2 billion across platforms. His breakout single Back to Friends also topped the U.S. and Global Spotify Charts and held #1 on the Alternative Radio Chart for five consecutive weeks.

Born Shane Boose and raised on New York City’s Lower East Side, Sombr first began making music in his bedroom while studying classical music at LaGuardia High School. His viral 2022 single Caroline marked the beginning of his meteoric rise, leading to sold-out tours in North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand including his first-ever sold-out arena show—before even releasing a full album. Now based in Los Angeles, the singer-songwriter continues to explore themes of young romance, heartbreak, and self-discovery with an unfiltered lyrical style and self-produced sound.
