MGK Returns With New Single “Vampire Diaries” Ahead of Upcoming Album ‘Lost Americana’

GRAMMY-nominated artist Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) makes a bold return with his latest single, “vampire diaries,”a guitar-driven track produced by longtime friend and collaborator Travis Barker. The new release follows the momentum of his lead summer single, “cliché,” which marked a return to MGK’s alt-rock roots.

The “vampire diaries” video, directed by frequent visual collaborator Sam Cahill, takes place inside a museum, where MGK dances through exhibits after dark. The choreography was crafted by Sean Bankhead, known for his work with Usher and Tate McRae, and previously collaborated with MGK on the “cliché” video.

In tandem with the upcoming album, MGK also announced the return of his annual MGK Day weekend in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. The three-day celebration honors his local roots with a packed lineup of community events, music, visual art, and charitable initiatives. The event continues to solidify MGK’s connection to the city that raised him.

MGK’s Recent Highlights

MGK recently performed at Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards and the Today Citi Concert Series, further showcasing his cross-generational appeal. He also released a stripped-back, acoustic “sad version” of “cliché,” offering fans a new emotional angle on the summer hit.

From Pop-Punk Resurgence to Rock Legacy

Machine Gun Kelly cemented his place in the modern rock landscape with 2020’s Tickets to My Downfall, a genre-shifting album that debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and spawned multiple platinum singles, including “bloody valentine” and “my ex’s best friend.” The project dominated the Hot Rock Songs chart, landing 18 trackssimultaneously.

In 2022, he followed up with Mainstream Sellout, which also debuted at No. 1 and earned a GRAMMY nomination for Best Rock Album, marking a major milestone in his genre evolution.

MGK’s upcoming era with Lost Americana promises a new chapter in his ever-evolving career—blending bold visuals, guitar-driven production, and deep-rooted storytelling. Stay tuned for more updates as the album release approaches.
